Trimming the Fat
Ok people, I have noticed on a couple of our recent defensive (and offensive) wars that we have quite a few members that drag us down completely, and I've not seen some members participating at all in a couple of weeks...
So the questions are:
Do you all think that we need to trim our non-participating members so we do not lose as many points to attacking factions?
and if yes:
How long do we wait to do this?
and if no:
Why not?

Re: Trimming the Fat
Well, I stand on the edge on this. My recruiting tactic has always been, "hey, join a faction where no one will kick you out for for not meeting a daily loyalty point requirement". And some players never use the chat, let alone this forum - it's what, mainly four people that use the forum here?
But the problem remains, some of the members have crappy defensive decks. But some are pretty active, even with their crappy decks. Like Biomankill and SmartGamer. Those are the two newest members I can remember.
As for kicking people, I'm okay with kicking people if we have more people waiting in the applicant pool. But there's not anyone, soooo.... I don't know where to stand on this really...

My 2 cents
Since i put this up, it is probably a bit obvious that i feel we should kick "less useful" members but i do agree about people not using chat and forums.
and i can also agree on the not booting without waiting applicants, and i wasnt intending to pick on the newer people. I was just wanting to get other opinions, for ive noticed we had some that when they joined were rather active but.now a bit later weeks/ months they are inactive

Re: Trimming the Fat
I think we all go through seasons, Dark, of being active, and inactive. My concern is just that we can all just enjoy the game, and the faction, for what it is. If we start "rage quitting" or breaking keyboards, I think it's time for a break.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about getting fresh meat in the group, I'd just it be competitive in a friendly and sane manner. Plus, you and Nug and Giga and Nickman are getting up in the ranks. I don't think we'll ever be a top 25 contender even with newer members and better decks, but those ppl take things way too seriously anyway.
Just my immediate thoughts.

Re: Trimming the Fat
I just kicked "omgwtfcakes". He was a lvl 6 (not that that should matter), but has been in the faction for like a month and never played, or at least, won, 1 battle. It's different, for me, if you play sporadically, than if you just don't play. I found that to be acceptable. Thoughts?
omgwtfcakes
Agreed, sporadic playing is perfectly fine, we are a casual faction, but sheer absence with no functional defense is not remotely helpful, and I agree about level not mattering.

Re: Trimming the Fat
As You Wish and Nosfire have been in for awhile, but they are at 7 and 2 loyalty points total... thoughts??? (Apoch just joined, he's on step above them, but Brad, Kyfan and Uberhoss have been in for awhile as well). Anyone seen PinguinVoador in awhile???
ya there alot of absentees recently
havent seen any of the ones you listed, nor have i seen icedminttea in quite awhile, as you before said, we are casual, but the higher we go, the more that is gonna kill us in the rankings (not that I care about stats) but if we want to win it will become increasingly important that even our lowest members have a deck that can take out the occasional enemy

Re: Trimming the Fat
All right, Kal hasn't been on in ages... But I figure I'd leave him at Officer level if that's okay. But has anyone seen PinguinVoader? He hasn't been on in awhile has he? Should he still be an officer?
I'm thinking about kicking AsYouWish - 2 LP and been apart of the faction for a month.
What do you think should be requirements for officer consideration? How many LP's? Thelvin is probably next in line.
Uncle F is blowing up in the wars. Probably has the fastest LP win to days of being a member ration. I often see him with 30+ wins in a war. He might be a consideration as well.
You guys are all officers, so what do you think?

Re: trimming
Ya i agree with leaving kal as an officer, he was our founder after all, and said that he would only be on every now and again.
I also agree with kicking asyouwish, looking at his profile I do not see a reason to keep him.
As for penguim, is there a way to un-officer him without kicking? if not...
Considering the officer status mark.
A bit ago, you mentioned 1000 lp, That sounds fair to me, it shows true loyalty. thelvin, and uncle are well on their way to that mark, and i agree uncle is doing alot of work on our wars.

Re: Trimming the Fat
Okay, AsYouWish is gone. Pinguim has been demoted to member. If he gets active again, he can work at being promoted. But yeah, I'll still with the original plan of 1000 loyalty points.
Sounds Fair!
Hey guys! Just reading over your comments I agree wholeheartedly I think that just because someone isn't on all the time or their level shouldn't be cause for booted members. No activity at all is another matter entirely. Also if we have something coming up, vacation etc. we can always drop a line here to let everyone know right?

Re: trimming
ya if someone isnt going to be on for some reason (vacation work moving, bored) they can always just say so

Re: Trimming the Fat
That works for me. I try not to kick anyone unless I really note the lack of activity. But I'm starting to be wary of letting people under level 10 (maybe 20) in. I dunno. I guess everyone's gotta just go with whatever the gut feeling is at the time.
